Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department reports

A 24 year old Tomahawk man was arrested last Monday on a
warrant charge. The man came to the Lincoln County Jail to serve a sentence. In
doing a check, a warrant was discovered through the Wisconsin Department of
Corrections for a probation violation. He was held on a probation hold.
A 55 year old Merrill man was arrested early Tuesday
following a disturbance. Deputies responded to a Town of Pine River home where
the victim told the deputies the man struck her after arguing about the setting
on the thermostat. She said the suspect had come home intoxicated. He was
brought to the Lincoln County Jail and held over night. He was released after
posting cash bond.
Two people were injured after a woman struck a stalled car
Friday morning. The accident occurred on Tannery Rd. in the town of Bradley at
just after 7:00am. The driver was traveling south when she struck a stalled
vehicle parked in the lane of traffic with emergency flashers on. The driver and
her daughter were transported by Tomahawk EMS to Ministry Sacred Heart
Hospital. The woman was eventually transported to Ministry Saint Mary's for
non-life threatening injuries.
Deputies reported a quiet New Year's Eve. The snow caused
only a few problems with 4 vehicles leaving the roadway. They report deputies
were extra vigilant throughout the weekend making few traffic stops.
An investigation is pending after a Merrill man took a motor
vehicle without the owner's consent from a town of Merrill establishment. The
vehicle was recovered by Merrill Police and the man was arrested as a result of
the incident.
Eight people reported striking deer this past week, down from
the previous few weeks. For 2011, 475 people reported striking deer on Lincoln
County roadways. This is 92 more than 2010. There were also 23 bear crashes and
11 turkey crashes this past year.
