Some Lincoln County trails opening

Lincoln County snowmobilers will have to wait just one more day to hit the trails.

The Lincoln County Forestry, Land and Parks Department announced that beginning tomorrow at noon zone 1 in Lincoln County will be open for snowmobiles. State funded trails included in zone 1 are those north of County Highway J and State Highway 86.

All other Lincoln County trails will remain closed until further notice.

Trails in zone 1 designated for winter ATV use will remain closed to ATV's until next week.

The department reminds riders to stay on marked trails and use caution as some areas may be rough, especially in open farm country and wetland areas. For up to date Lincoln County trail conditions, you can log on to the County's website.

For those who choose to cross country ski, the trails in 9 Mile Forest in Wausau are now open for use.
