Attic fan caused fire
Investigators have finished their investigation into the fire that destroyed a Merrill gas station in late October.
The final report says the Buffalo Spirits Villas was destroyed by a fire that started in a fan in the attic of the building. The exact cause won’t be known beyond that because of the extreme damage to the structure.
The fire on Thursday, October 29 gutted the gas station’s office building. Firefighters were able to keep it from spreading to the nearby underground tanks and a petroleum storage unit.
No one was injured in the fire.
