Fishing tournament with Veterans in Tomahawk

Next weekend veterans in the Tomahawk area will have the opportunity to ice fish in a tournament.

The AMVETS Post 724 and the NCO Club will hold their 4th annual ice fishing tournament next Saturday at the Highway N boat Landing on Lake Nokomis.

The Wounded Warrior program is offering the chance for veterans to participate. They will provide transportation, a heated ice shack, minnows and tip-ups. The program will also drill the holes and assist with other special needs.

To participate in this program, the veteran must be rated at 70% or more by VA standards. To sign up for fishing with other veterans, they must call Mark Durkee at 715-493-3176 for reservations.

For non-veterans interested in participating in the tournament there will be same day registration at the site beginning at 7 one week from tomorrow.
