Deputies credited proper use of seat belts and an air bag in preventing serious injury in a 1 vehicle crash this week. At just before 1:00am on Tuesday a 911 call reported a truck left the roadway and rolled on State Rd. 64. The driver said he was driving home after work when he fell asleep. His truck left the roadway and struck an embankment at Black Jack Lane. He was treated and released for minor injuries at Ministry Good Samaritan Health Center.

The rec deputy cited four out-of-state snowmobilers for operating while intoxicated after a traffic stop early Saturday morning in the Town of Bradley. The deputy watched as the sleds failed to stop at two stop signs while traveling south on the Hiawatha Trail at just before 1:00am. Two men from Texas and a man from Chicago were taken into custody following field sobriety tests and cited for operating a snowmobile while intoxicated. A fourth man, also from Texas, refused the test and was taken in on the same offense. The four were processed and released to a responsible party.

A 50 year old Neenah man was taken into custody yesterday morning after deputies responded to a report of a vehicle in the ditch in the Town of King. Just after midnight a caller reported the incident on County Rd. D near H. When the deputies arrived at the scene they found the man in the driver seat and detected intoxicants. As the result of a field sobriety test, he was arrested on a second offense of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.

A 23 year old Irma man was taken into custody yesterday afternoon on a body only warrant through Grant County. A deputy along with a Tomahawk officer went to a residence on South Gate Drive and took the man into custody on the warrant for 13 counts of criminal damage to property. He was brought to the Lincoln County Jail where he will be held until he can be returned to Grant County.
