Lincoln County traffic stop leads to drug
arrest
Monday, January 9, 2012
A traffic stop over the
weekend in Lincoln County lead to a drug arrest.
Deputies were patrolling on State Rd 17 when they
observed a vehicle speeding at around 1:30 Saturday morning.
When the vehicle was stopped, the deputy observed
what appeared to be marijuana next to a back seat passenger. A test came back
positive for THC. A Rhinelander K9 unit responded to the scene and the dog
indicated drugs in the vehicle.
The deputies recovered 3 ounces of marijuana in
the vehicle. A 15 year old Rhinelander teen admitted to ownership and was taken
in on a charge of possession of marijuana with intent to deliver. A second teen
from East Troy was arrested on a probation violation.
Deputies indicate the investigation is still
ongoing and more arrests could follow.
