Merrill Police contract at council
Tuesday, January 10, 2012
The contract with Merrill police officers is
expected to be voted upon at their council meeting tonight.
That contract would have the officers making more
money, but also paying more towards their health care and retirement.
Under the contract with the Merrill Professional
Police Association, officers would get a 3.5% wage increase annually. They
would then contribute 4% more towards their retirement. City Finance Director
Kathy Unertl said it is significant because it
changes to a percentage.
In addition to the retirement increase, they will
also pay a higher deductible for health insurance.
Merrill's City Council will meet tonight at 7:00.
