Crash on 51 near Merrill

Crews were dispatched early this morning to a crash at the intersection of Highway 51 and County C in the Town of Merrill.

A passenger vehicle struck a pulp truck at just before 6:00am. The pulp truck was attempting to turn off of 51 onto county road C when the passenger vehicle traveling northbound crashed into the back.

Upon arrival crews found a compact car in the median with one person inside. The driver was extricated by Merrill rescue workers through the passenger door due to the damage sustained to the front and driver sides of the vehicle. One patient was transported to Good Samaritan in Merrill.
