Man dies in snowmobile
crash
Monday, December 28, 2009
A twenty two year old Oxford man was killed after a
snowmobile crash early Sunday morning in the Town of Bradley outside of
Tomahawk.
A cell 911 call reported the incident to 911 at 4:46 AM.
Because the caller was unfamiliar with the area, Oneida Medic 4 and Tomahawk
EMS along with Deputies in both Lincoln and Oneida County were dispatched to
look for the crash scene. Just after 5:00 AM the crash was narrowed to the area
of Muskellunge Lake Rd and finally found on Nibler Rd.
The victim, William P. Titschler was traveling east on Nibler Rd when his sled
left the roadway and struck a tree. He was removed from the scene by Tomahawk
EMS with the assistance of the Tomahawk Fire Department to a waiting ambulance
and transported to Sacred Heart Hospital. William Titschler was pronounced dead
shortly after arriving at the hospital.
The Wisconsin DNR has begun an investigation into the incident and at this time
considers speed and alcohol as contributing factors.
