Man arrested for
Tomahawk area burglaries
Friday, January 8, 2010
On Friday, January 8 at 9:15
am, Officers from the Tomahawk Police Department arrested John M. Kneipp, age
19, and have forwarded a request for charges to the Lincoln County District
Attorney’s Office. Requested
charges include five counts of felony burglary, one count of felony attempted
burglary, five counts of misdemeanor theft and six counts of misdemeanor
criminal damage to property. These
charges stem from a series of burglaries that began in early December 2009 and
continued until John Kneipp’s initial arrest on January 6.
John Kneipp was arrested by
Tomahawk Police Office Brett Susa in the early morning hours of January 6, on
charges of one count each of felony burglary, misdemeanor theft and felony
possession of burglary tools.
Lincoln County imposed a $4,500 signature bond and $500 cash bond on
these charges. John Kneipp posted
bond and was released from custody on January 6.
Officers from the Tomahawk
Police Department executed a search warrant at the residence of John Kneipp
during the evening hours on January 6.
Evidence recovered during that search assisted the Tomahawk Police
Department in forwarding these additional charges. The investigations are still on going and additional charges
may be forthcoming.
John Kneipp is currently in
the custody of the Lincoln County Jail.
