Vilas County to merge
two highway positions
Tuesday, January 17, 2012
In an effort to save tax payer money, Vilas County will
consolidate two positions in their highway department.
Jarred Maney was selected to take
over the new role. He is currently the interim highway commissioner. His new
role would include both the highway commissioner and patrol superintendent.
Members of their county board said that the department
understands tight budgets and the need to run the it with less
personnel. They feel this will be future savings on behalf of Vilas County tax
payers.
The resolution to hire Maney for a two year term goes before
the full county board meeting next Tuesday.
