Rhinelander School open house
Friday, January 20, 2012
After months of construction, Rhinelander High School will be
unveiling their newly renovated high school to the public. The evening
culminates with a ribbon cutting and dedication of the Jim Miazga
Community Gymnasium.
Students will lead tours of RHS while a free community dinner
of chicken Alfredo with broccoli takes place from 4:30 through 6:30. They will
unveil the donor wall honoring those who contributed at around 5:20 in the
commons area.
In the gym, the girl’s basketball team will tip off against
Lakeland at 5:45 followed by the ribbon cutting for the Jim Miazga Community
Gymnasium. Miazga is a Hodag Hall of Fame inductee, who starred at Rhinelander
before playing football at UW-Oshkosh. He donated $250,000 to the Hodag Facilities Foundation.
The boy's basketball team will then tip off against the
T-Birds at 8:00.
The RHS Choir and the Shodags will
sing the national anthems for the two games, and the pep band and Hodag Dance Teams will perform during both half times.
Entrance to the basketball games will be free to all those who donate
non-perishable food items to the game.
