Lakeland water safe
Thursday, October 6, 2011
It is now safe to drink the water in
the Lakeland Sanitary District.
The Oneida County Health Department has now lifted the boil
water notice after the district followed all protocols set forth by the DNR.
Two negative water samples have been received from the lab,
showing no evidence of the total coliform bacteria being present in the
municipal water supply.
They recommend running the faucet for a few minutes and flush
the toilets to clear the system. They also advise clearing ice makers that may
have produced ice during the notice.
The Lakeland Sanitary District is made up of portions of
Minocqua, Arbor Vitae and Woodruff.
