Merrill carbon monoxide scare

The Merrill Fire Department was called for a Carbon Monoxide check yesterday.

They responded to an apartment on South Foster St. at around 7:00. A test found 91 parts per million. According to the US Consumer Safety Commission, as CO levels increase and remain above 70 ppm, symptoms become more noticeable and can include headache, fatigue and nausea.

The tenants in the apartment went to relatives for the night and other apartments were cleared. A furnace repair was called and no source of carbon monoxide was found. A further test showed 0.0 Parts per Million.
