Scarecrow contest deadline
Thursday, October 6, 2011
Tomorrow is the last day to enter the
Scarecrow contest in Tomahawk, with a chance to win cash prizes.
The annual Fall Family Festival and launch of that Scarecrow
Contest was held this past Saturday. There were nearly 100 children and their
families attending the event, with around 25 scarecrows already entered into
the first annual contest.
Entries will be accepted until 5pm tomorrow, and may be
submitted by any individual or team, including non-profits, businesses,
classrooms or families.
The scarecrows will be displayed throughout the Main Street
district in October. The public is invited to vote in the contest by placing $1
with each ballot, at participating downtown merchants. There is $325 worth of
cash and "Main Street Money" going to the top winners. Judging will
take place on October 29, with the winner announced
right here on the Morning Show November 2.
