Merrill nears decision on administrator
position
Tuesday, October 11, 2011
After
months of debate and community input, the City of Merrill will decide tonight
whether or not to find a new administrator.
Merrill city Council
members will make that decision at their council meeting at 5:30.
The city's ad hoc
administrator committee has been collecting input from both the community and
from city staff about any changes they'd like to see to the administrator's
position. Using that data, a new job description and a recruitment ad were created
and would be sent out to find a new city administrator.
In order to hire a new
administrator, the council would have to lift the hiring freeze for the
position, as well as approve the start of a new search.
Former administrator Tony
Chaldek resigned back in April after his termination was
approved by the committee of the whole.
