Tomahawk Police Department reports

On Monday
morning a caller reported two vehicles passed her at a high rate of speed at
approximately 8:30. The incident took place on South Tomahawk Avenue, and she
was behind them until they turned towards the school. An officer located both
vehicles in the Tomahawk High School parking lot. Both operators admitted to
traveling in excess of the speed limit because they were late for school. They
were issued warnings.
Officers
are investigating a counterfeit bill that circulated in Tomahawk. The bill was
found at a bank after being included in a deposit from an area business.
There was
a report of a gas run-off of over $100. The vehicle was located at another
Tomahawk business. The Waukesha man said he usually pays at the pump with a
credit card and he just forgot. He returned to the gas station and paid for the
gas.
Officers
responded to an incident on West Leather Avenue. A 49 year old male victim said
that a 48 year old suspect took his keys and refused to give them back and
wanted to list his truck as stolen. The suspect said that the victim owes him
money and that he was also shouting obscenities and slurs. The suspect said at
that point he threw the keys into the snow. The victim and officer could not
locate those keys. He suggested that the victim get a new key made and deduct
the value from the money owed. The suspect was warned for disorderly conduct
and theft.
Someone
called reporting a physical fight between a man and a woman at a Tomahawk gas
station parking lot. When the officer arrived they arrested the 22 year old
male for domestic disorderly conduct and for bail jumping. he
was then transported to the Lincoln County Jail.
