Rhinelander man accused of stabbing wife appears in court

Tuesday, March 13, 2012

The Rhinelander man accused of stabbing and choking his wife appeared in Oneida County Court yesterday.

At the hearing Shannon Wolf's attorney asked for the felony strangulation charge to be dismissed saying it was incidental contact. The judge dismissed the attorney's request.

Wolf's wife, as well as the first officer on the scene testified at the hearing. His wife testified that she was riding with a friend in February when Wolf forced them to pull over. She then said he broke the passenger side window and stabbed her several times.

Sergeant Detective Joshua Pudlowski testified about what Wolf told him, and about the bloodied knife with a bent blade that he found.

Wolf is facing 5 charges in the case including two felonies for strangulation or suffocation and 1st degree recklessly endangering safety. He is scheduled for an arraignment March 26.
