Merrill Administrator Position
Wednesday, October 12, 2011
The city of Merrill will begin the
hiring process for a new city administrator.
Last night the Council voted 7-1 to open up a hiring freeze
for the position and to post a job opening.
The city offered a survey last month and 80% of respondents
asked for the position to return. Residents wanted the administrator to be
professional and non partisan. City staff were also
surveyed and their support was not as strong.
Mayor Bill Bialecki said the
position will focus on duties such as handling staff and business development.
It will also remove some responsibilities such as administration of the city's
water and public works.
The position will be posted until the end of November, and
they would like to have a new administrator in place by February.
