Death of UWSP student ruled accidental drowning

Authorities in Portage County are saying that the death UW-Stevens Point student last month was from an accidental drowning earlier.

Search teams found the body of Eric Duffey several days after he went missing from a Stevens Point bar. The Fitchburg man was out celebrating his 21st birthday. Over 150 people and search dogs looked for him, before he was found in the Wisconsin River.

Portage County authorities are still awaiting toxicology tests to see if and how much alcohol was in his system when he went missing.
