Daytime burglaries reported in Merrill

The Merrill Police Department is investigating a string of daytime burglaries in city.

Over the past several months, ten burglaries have been reported, all during daylight hours.

The Merrill Police Department says it usually happens when no one is home, but there is one report of a burglary when the homeowner was busy outside doing yard work. Owners are reporting cash and smaller valuable items being taken.

The Merrill Police Department is receiving reports of suspicious activity in the neighborhoods where this is happening. Neighbors say a younger male is knocking on doors asking for directions or asking to use jumper cables.

Police are reminding you not to keep cash in your house, even if you think it's hidden in a safe place.
