Tomahawk teen starts venison for seniors
Thursday, October
13
year old Zach Haring is creating a non-profit organization called Venison For Seniors. The goal is to help senior citizens in Tomahawk
by giving them at least one meal of freshly processed venison. He got the idea
after his family gave venison to his grandfather.
He is hoping to get
donations from other deer hunters, allowing more venison to go around. The
first donation came from his sister, who harvested a deer earlier this year.
Haring began hunting two
years ago and got his first last year.
They are accepting meals
of raw venison or whole deer which they would process. Haring has been in
contact with the DNR to clear the organization.
Those interested in
donating or seniors seeking donations can contact them by calling 715-966-2128
or on their newly created Facebook page.
