An
officer stopped a vehicle for operating without headlights earlier this week.
The 16 year old driver was cited for operating without a valid license. A
parent was contacted, who was out of town. She had the car parked until she
returned The teen was taken to his residence, as was a 15 year old male
passenger. Both were warned for curfew violations and the driver was also
warned for driving with no headlights in addition to the citation.
At just before 1am there was
a report of an assault. They said a 47 year old man received lacerations on his
head and was refusing medical treatment. The 24 year old male suspect left the
scene before an officer arrived. The officer was unable to locate him, and is
investigating the incident.
A couple reported that part of
their Halloween decoration was missing from their yard on W. Lincoln Avenue. A
3 foot tall head of a sea creature that was orange and neon green in color was
taken. It was made of plywood with bracket attachments. They said it holds
sentimental value for them.
A woman reported Wednesday
morning that she was woken by the sound of her car alarm at around 2:00 am. She
went outside her McKinley St. residence and found the car door open. She didn't
see anyone in the area, and nothing appeared to be missing from the vehicle.
Yesterday morning another
woman on McKinley Street reported that she could hear what she thought was
someone trying to break into her home. An officer and a Lincoln County Deputy
couldn't locate anyone in the area. They advised the woman to lock the doors
and call if anything else suspicious.
