NTC begins offering concealed carry classes

Leading up to the new concealed carry
law, North Central Technical College will help train residents on how to carry
a concealed weapon.
Instructors will train students in four key areas, including
firearm safety, firearm laws, potential use in the home and safe handling of
firearms. NTC's classes will also put students through a state-of-the-art
training simulator that will require them to respond to a real life scenario
involving the potential use of a firearm in three seconds.
The college holds the first of its six class training
sessions tonight. Two courses will take place next week and 3 will be held in
November Each class is eight hours and costs $65.
The NTC training class will exceed state training standards
for anyone who wants to carry concealed. Four hours are required to get the permit.
The new concealed carry law takes effect November 1st.
