Rhinelander hires new administrator

Tuesday, July 26, 2011

Rhinelander will have a new city administrator beginning August 31.

Last night the Rhinelander City Council hired Blaine Oborn to fill the vacant administrator position. Oborn comes from Kronenwetter where he has been village administrator since July of 2009. Before that he was in West Virginia and is originally from California.

Oborn accepted the offer last week pending council approval of the contract of $88,000 per year. He beat out 6 other candidates in a two day interview process.

He will replace Bill Bell who resigned to take a similar job in Colorado to be closer to his family and home.
