Woman struck by car dies

A Medford woman who was struck by a van Friday, has died.

59 year old Ruth Evens was found lying unconscious in the middle of Perkins street with head injuries after the accident. She was airlifted to intensive care where she was being treated. Ministry St. Josephs Hospital said she died Monday afternoon.

The accident remains under investigation. Police have not released the name or age of the driver of the van that struck Evens, neither speed nor alcohol appear to be factors.
