Man pleads guilty to hitting bicyclist

Thursday, July 28, 2011

The 24 year old Gleason man arrested for hitting a bicyclist with his truck in Lincoln County pleads not guilty in court yesterday.

After finding enough evidence to move forward with the case, Judge Jay Tlusty bound Danny Nicklaus over for trial. Three people gave testimony at the preliminary hearing.

Nicklaus' attorney, Jessica Schuster requested a new judge, which will delay the trial.

Nicklaus faces three felony counts and a misdemeanor charge.

The Victim, Patrick Blakeslee believes he was hit on purpose. He was riding his bicycle on Heineman Rd. when an oncoming pickup swerved at him and caused him to crash, according to the Lincoln County Sheriff's Dept. He suffered a broken arm in the incident.
