Merrill, Wausau seeking concealed carry ban
Tuesday, October 18, 2011
Yet
another community is looking to change their ordinance in anticipation of the
concealed carry law taking effect.
The City of Merrill will
hold a special meeting of their common council on tomorrow. At that meeting
they will vote on a revised ordinance, which would prevent anyone other than
law enforcement in the scope of their duty from carrying a concealed weapon in
city buildings.
The city of Wausau is
considering a similar measure, which their public health and
safety committee is working on. It could come up for vote next week.
The law allowing
concealed weapons takes effect on November 1.
