Oneida County woman sentenced for crash

The
woman charged with homicide and negligent use of a vehicle in a crash last year
in Minocqua was sentenced to serve 5 years in prison.
Twenty Seven year old Nora
Johnson was sentenced to 5 years in prison, with 6 years on extended
supervision following the initial confinement.
She was intoxicated from
prescriptions and marijuana at the time of the crash according to court
records. Because of this Judge Mark Mangerson ruled
she may not consume drugs or alcohol during rehabilitation and must engage in
counseling.
The crash resulted in the
death of a 73 year old woman and the injury of several others.
Mangerson said during the sentencing
that there wasn't enough in her history to justify the maximum penalty of 25
years in prison.
