The woman charged with homicide and negligent use of a vehicle in a crash last year in Minocqua was sentenced to serve 5 years in prison.

Twenty Seven year old Nora Johnson was sentenced to 5 years in prison, with 6 years on extended supervision following the initial confinement.

She was intoxicated from prescriptions and marijuana at the time of the crash according to court records. Because of this Judge Mark Mangerson ruled she may not consume drugs or alcohol during rehabilitation and must engage in counseling.

The crash resulted in the death of a 73 year old woman and the injury of several others.

Mangerson said during the sentencing that there wasn't enough in her history to justify the maximum penalty of 25 years in prison.
