Merrill United Way / Church Mutual raise funds

The Merrill Area United Way began a campaign in September with week long efforts of Church Mutual Insurance.

With a company match they raised over $67,000. These funds will help support 21 programs in the Merrill area. The Merrill United Way president Nancy Kwiesielewicz says their annual goal for the year is once again $155,000 and they are nearly half way there.

Executive Director Dee Olsen says they have sent direct mailings to nearly 3,400 individuals, business, churches and organizations. She went on to say that anyone can participate with contributions small or large to help families struggle through difficult times.

The campaign concludes November 30 and several other large companies will be conducting internal campaigns. Those interested can contact the United Way at 715-536-2016.
