Standoff in Tomahawk
Thursday, October 20, 2011
A high risk situation involving
Special Response teams near Tomahawk yesterday morning ended without incident.
At around 9:30 the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office received a
report of a disturbance at a home on Peaceful Valley Rd in the Town of Bradley.
It was reported that a forty one year old male was possibly holding an eighteen
year old female against her will.
Patrol units from the Sheriff’s Office with the assistance of
the Tomahawk Police responded to the area and attempted to make contact. The
man refused to cooperate with law enforcement, and both the Lincoln and Oneida
County Special Response Teams were then deployed to the area.
Shortly after 1:00 PM a crisis negotiator was able to make
contact and the female came out of the home. The female was checked by Tomahawk
EMS but was not harmed during the event. A short time later the male
surrendered to SRT members outside of the home.
The male suspect has been brought to the Lincoln County Jail.
At this time Deputies have not released names or charges.
