Marathon County considers concealed ban in
buildings
Friday, September 9, 2011
Marathon County's Parks committee is
debating whether to ban weapons in public buildings.
The committee discussed the issue on Wednesday, and the
Public Health and Safety Committee will review the subject next week.
The Parks committee recommended that no weapons concealed or
otherwise be allowed in county buildings. Currently guns are banned at the
courthouse only. The current law would make exceptions for the shooting range,
park shelters and restrooms.
Any policy change would require the approval of the county
board.
