Sara Park expansion to break ground

WaWui Ltd. president Jeff Kahle has announced that ground will be broken today on a SARA Park addition. The 30'x70' addition to the south east corner will include an entry way, bathrooms, a warming/meeting room and a year round concession area.

Kahle noted that the estimated $130,000 project is the third City of Tomahawk Park improvement project constructed this year, all without tax dollars. Other park projects include the Music on the River Veteran's Memorial Park Shelter and the bleachers at Tyler Kahle Memorial Field.

The addition will benefit winter users with a larger warming area and an air-lock northwoods themed entryway and the concession stand serving area will also serve the ball fields and other activities in the summer.

The project will be framed and enclosed by winter, with the finish date targeted by June 1, 2012, depending on funds and volunteer finishers.
