Alexis Ammerman 1st – 50meter, 3rd – softball throw
Gunnar Leck         1st – Softball throw, 2nd – 100 meter, 6th – long jump
Simon DuPont       1st – 100 meter, 3rd – softball throw, 4th – long jump
Phillip Bethel         2nd – 100 meter, 5th – long jump, 7th – softball throw

Advancing to State with their first and second place finishes are:  Simon DuPont, Matt Lawrence, Gunnar Leck, Kristen Beilke, Phillip Bethel, Ali Leggett, and Alexis Ammerman.
The State Summer Games will be held in Stevens Point on June 6-8th.

TopTHS Boys & Girls Track & Field

The Great Northern Conference meet was held last night at Antigo. Lakeland took home both conference titles as they edged Medford on the boys side by 4 points and finished 17 ½ points ahead of the Tomahawk girls.

Bryan Tomek came away with victories in the 1600 and 800 meter runs and anchored the Hatchets to a runner-up finish in the 1600 meter relay. Bryan was selected by the conference coaches as the “Runner of the Year” in the GNC for his efforts.

Other Hatchets coming away with championships and earning 1st-team All-Conference for their finishes:

 Grace Mickelson pole vaulted 9’6″ to tie the GNC record in the vault

 Sam Schade in the discus with a 105’9″ toss

 Anna Nyberg with a 5’0″ high jump effort

 Freshman Hanna Meyer in the Triple Jump with a 32’10″ leap

 Audrey Dichsen, Talyn Jones, Dani Whiting, and Alex Zedler combined to take the 3200 meter relay in a seasonal best time of 11:02

Conference runner-up efforts, good enough to earn 2nd-team All-Conference, came from:

 Kaitlin Gaedtke-300 meter low hurdles

 Breanna Renn-100 meter dash

 Eddie Yirsa, Austin Bellile, Neko McMahon, Jacob Ungerer, Bryan Tomek in the 800 and 1600 meter relays

 Breanna Renn, Emmy Larson, Katie Koth, and Hanna Meyer in the 400 meter relay

Next meet is Monday as the Hatchets host a 9-team regional at Hatchet Stadium. Meet gets underway at 4:00 with the field events.

2013 THS Track

TopTHS Softball

The Tomahawk Hatchet Softball Team hosted Lakeland on Thursday at Hatchet Field in WIAA Regional Quarter Final action.  Tomahawk has their 2013 season come to an end with a 10-8 loss.

The Hatchets were led at the plate by Stephanie Welke, 3-4 2 runs, Stephanie Schoone, 3-4, 3 runs, RBI and Alex DuPlayee 3-4, triple, 3 RBI, 2 runs.

Tomahawk ends their season at 7-9 overall and 7-5 in the GNC.

The Tomahawk Hatchet Baseball Team split a double header with Antigo on Thursday at Tyler Kahle Memorial Field at Pride Park.  Tomahawk won game one and lost game two.

Tomahawk will host Phillips on Monday at 5:00 pm at Tyler Kahle Memorial Field at Pride Park.

The Tomahawk Hatchet Golf Team finished fourth at the Great Northern Conference Meet on Tuesday at Trout Lake Golf Course, as the Hatchets shot a 398.

Turner Wegener led Tomahawk with an 88.  Tanner Lacck and Dan Geraty shot 103′s, Nick Osero shot a 1-4 and Cullen Wegener shot a 105. 

Tomahawk will host the Great Northern Conference Teams on Friday at 2:00 pm at the Inshalla Country Club for 18 hole action.

TopTHS Boys Hockey

The Hatchet Boys Hockey Team opened WIAA Playoff action on Tuesday, losing at Pacelli 13-1.

Pacelli led 5-1 after the first period and 9-1 after the second.  Tomahawk was outshot 37-22.

The Hatchet goal came from Jakob Panzer on assists from Alex Ungerer and Luke Schoone.

Tomahawk ends their 2012-13 season at 8-14.

The Tomahawk Hatchet Boys Basketball Team lost to the #1 team in Division Three on Friday night in WIAA Regional Semi Final action.  Little Chute beat Tomahawk 55-25.

Tomahawk finishes the 2012-13 season with an 11-13 record.

The Tomahawk Hatchet Girls Basketball Team traveled to Northland Pines on Tuesday for WIAA Regional Quarter Final action.  The Eagles advance with a 49-35 win, while Tomahawk has their season come to an end at 2-20.

The Eagles led 9-2 after the first and 19-14 at the half.  Northland Pines led 26-21 after three.

Jessie Harmon had 13 points, Stephanie Welke had 8 points, 11 blocks and 12 rebounds and Devin Swan and Sammi White each had six points.

The Hatchet Wrestling Team was represented at state by Austin Bellile on Friday and Saturday.  Bellile finishes his career with a fourth place finish at state in the Division Two 182 pound weight class.

The Tomahawk Hatchet Girls Hockey Team lost 12-0 at Mosinee to the Central Wisconsin Storm on Thursday in WIAA Regional action.

TopTHS Boys Swimming

The Tomahawk Hatchet Boys Swimming Team finished ninth at the WIAA Sectional Meet at the Unversity of Wisconsin Stevens Point on Saturday.

Tomahawk had a 7th place finish in the 200 yard freestyle relay and Vic Ierulli had a 9th place finish in the 100 free.
