Hatchet Regional Baseball Game Suspended Due to Weather
Published on 05/25/2018 under Sports The Hatchet Regional Baseball game was suspended due to lightning on Thursday at Lakeland. The Hatchets and T-Birds will resume their game on Friday.  The game is through 4 1/3 innings with Lakeland leading Tomahawk 8-2. The game resumes at 3:30 pm.

Hatchet Track & Field Teams Finish Season at Sectionals
Published on 05/25/2018 under Sports The Tomahawk Hatchet Track and Field Team sent several events to the WIAA Sectional Meet at Colby High School on Thursday.  Cody Jablonski - 11th place in the 100 meter dash - 12.05 Wyatt Wenninger - 10th place in the 200 meter dash - 24.09 Zack Flowers - 7th in the triple jump - 41'3 1/4", 7th in the long jump - 20' 1 1/4", 9th in the high jump - 6' Girls 4x800 meter relay - Maddie McCormick, Meagan Berg, Arianna Schriener and Kaylie Svacina - 9th - 11:07 Boys 4x100 meter relay - Wyatt Wenninger, Cody Jablonski, Caleb Venzke and Kade Wenninger - 12th - 46.28

Hatchet Softball Team Advances in Playoffs
Published on 05/24/2018 under Sports The Tomahawk Hatchet Softball Team defeated Wautoma on Wednesday 15-0 in four innings, as Rachel Dallman threw a no hitter. With the win, Tomahawk advances to the WIAA Regional Final on Friday.  The Hatchets will host Peshtigo on Friday at 5:00 pm at Hatchet Field. The winner of Friday's game will advance to the WIAA Sectional Semi Final on Tuesday.

Hatchet Softball Team Begins Tournament Play
Published on 05/23/2018 under Sports The Tomahawk Hatchet Softball Team begins tournament play on Wednesday, when the #2 seed Hatchets host Wautoma in a WIAA Regional Semi-Final game at Hatchet Field.  The opening pitch is at 5:00 pm. The winner advances to Friday's regional final, against the winner of the Peshtigo/Gillet-Suring contest.

Hatchet Track & Field Teams Compete at Regionals
Published on 05/22/2018 under Sports The Tomahawk Hatchet Girls and Boys Track and Field Teams competed at the WIAA Regional Meet on Monday at Mosinee High School.  The Hatchet boys were fifth, while the girls finished in ninth place. Zack Flowers had a pair of regional championships, in the triple jump and long jump.  Flowers triple jump of 43-01.75 is a new school record.  Flowers also had a second place finish in the high jump. Other top finishers for Tomahawk include:  Cody Jablonski second in the 100 meter dash, Wyatt Wenninger fourth in the 200 meter dash, Drew Bolder fifth in the 1600 meter run and Noah Buckwalter had a sixth in the 400. Tomahawk also placed well in the relays, with the girls 3200 meter relay team finishing fourth, the boys 400 meter relay team was fourth, the girls 800 meter relay team was fifth and the girls 400 meter relay team was also fifth. The Hatchets will advance several events to the WIAA Sectional Meet on Thursday at Colby High School, including: Zack Flowers - triple jump, long jump and high jump. Cody Jablonski - 100 meter dash Wyatt Wenninger - 200 meter dash Boys 4x100 meter relay - Kade Wenninger, Wyatt Wenninger, Cody Jablonski and Caleb Venzke Girls 4x800 meter relay - Arianna Schreiner, Maddie McCormick, Meagan Berg, and Kaylie Svacina The sectional meet begins at 3:00 pm with the field events and timed trials begin at 3:45 pm.  The top four finishers in each event will advance to the WIAA State Track and Field Championships. Published on 05/21/2018 under Sports On Tuesday the Hatchet Golf Team will compete in the WIAA Regional Meet hosted by Mosinee at Indianhead Golf Course. The 18 hole action begins at 9:00 am. The top four teams advance to the sectional meet and the top four golfers not on a qualifying team also advance.  The WIAA Sectional Meet is on Tuesday, May 29 at the Inshalla Country Club in Tomahawk.  The 18 hole sectional meet begins at 9:00 am.

Hatchet Softball Team Splits Double Header with Rhinelander
Published on 05/18/2018 under Sports On Thursday, the Hatchet Softball Team traveled to Rhinelander for a GNC Double Header. Tomahawk lost game one 3-2, and came back and won game two 12-2 in six innings. The Hatchets are the #2 seed in their WIAA Sectional bracket.  Tomahawk will host the winner of the Regional Quarter Final between Wautoma and Bonduel.  That game is on Tuesday, May 22, with the Hatchets hosting the winner on Wednesday, May 23 at Hatchet Field.

Hatchet Baseball Team Splits Double Header
Published on 05/18/2018 under Sports On Thursday, the Hatchet Varsity Baseball Team split a double header with Rhinelander at Tyler Kahle Memorial Field at Pride Park. The Hatchets defeated Rhinelander in game one 7 to 3. Eli Wurl was great on the mound for 5 strong and Jake Ruid pitched the final two. The Hatchets scored 4 in the top of the sixth, the exclamation point being a little league homerun by Jakob Kahle that scored two. In game two Rhinelander wins 7 to 0. William Russell got the loss on the mound. Jacob Matti recorded the only hit in game two. Tomahawk will host Merrill at 5:00 pm at Tyler Kahle Memorial Field at Pride Park.
